I stood in the midst of the chaos of s15 and I began to
pray. My kids are so angry, but they don't have a way to express themselves
peacefully. Not in a way that makes sense to them.
My campaign manager is refusing to participate in
marches, because she believes they are an inadequate expression of displeasure.
I agree. However, I feel that it is an outlet for these
young activists to release all that pent up energy that is inside their souls.
I can't blame them for being angry. I too am upset. I can't believe that mankind has made such a
mess of a once beautiful world.
At the end of the day, we all need to come together and
have a conversation. Not some wishy-washy nonsense that gives a token nod to
the disagreeable circumstances my kids are in.
I am concerned when I see people walking around with
wires in their ears rather than saying "Hello" to a new face walking
on the sidewalk. It seems as though
people do not talk with each other like they used to. Rather it is texting...sometimes even to a
mother sitting across the table. This
cold, sterile world needs to wake up....it needs to learn to see where love is
needed and it needs to reach out and give that love.
I know that a better world is possible. It is up to us, however, to make it happen. May we all be blessed as we strive to do what
is right.
Love,
OccuMom
